First Aid Responder Refresher Course

This course provides training to personnel who intend to re-certify in the role of Occupational First Aider within the workplace as described by The Health & Safety Authority.

Course Duration: 2 days (candidates MUST hold a current valid, in date First Aid Responder Certificate)

    • Responsibilities of First Aiders

    • Principles of treatment

    • Patient approach & examination

    • Wounds and bleeding

    • Head injuries

    • Dressings and bandages

    • Shock – fainting

    • Unconsciousness

    • Recovery position

    • Asphyxia and its causes

    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation practical

    • Treating foreign bodies, chemical splashes

    • Burns and scalds

    • Blood and the circulation System

    • Fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations

  • Successful Candidates are certified through FETAC and re-entered on the register of Occupational First Aiders for a further period of 2 years.
