First Aid Responder Course

This course provides training to personnel wishing to be part of the fire safety team within the workplace as described by The Health & Safety Authority.

Course Duration: 3 days (alternatively 3 separate days done over an extended period subject to pre arranged agreement)

    • Responsibilities of First Aiders

    • Principles of treatment

    • Patient approach & examination

    • Wounds and bleeding

    • Head injuries

    • Dressings and bandages

    • Shock – fainting

    • Unconsciousness

    • Recovery position

    • Asphyxia and its causes

    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation practical

    • Treating foreign bodies, chemical splashes

    • Burns and scalds

    • Blood and the circulation System

    • Fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations

  • All successful candidates will be certified through PHECC for a period of 2 years.

    Re-certification required prior to expiry of current in date certificate.
