Cardiac First Responder

This course provides personnel involved in Healthcare or frequently exposed to first aid situations with the knowledge and skill to recognise cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrilator (AED).

There are two levels of CFR courses:

  • Community - Suitable for first aiders.

  • Advanced - Contains more advanced training.

Course Duration: Community - 1/2 Day, Advanced - 1 Day

    • Recognise Cardiac Arrest

    • Scene Assessment

    • CPR 1 & 2 rescuer

    • Basic Life Support for Adults, children & Infants

    • Use of Airway Devices

    • Choking

    • AED Use

  • All successful candidates will be certified in CPR and AED use through the Irish Heart Foundation.

    Certification is valid for 2 years from date of issue, thereafter subject to re-certification.
